# DUCFS Final Figure Released: £232k Donated in 2026

It has just been revealed that Durham University Charity Fashion Show (DUCFS) has donated £232,049.64\. The 43rd annual show since its inception in 1983, its total fundraising figure remains wholly unknown; since 2017, Castle & Cloister research can reveal we've estimated a figure of over £1.6m raised by DUCFS for individual charities by DUCFS. Figures from previous years have often been rounded which makes it impossible to determine a precise amount.

£206,363.36 of funds were donated to DUCFS' 2025/26 selected charity Marie Curie, a British end-of-life organisation which provides free nursing care and hospices to individuals with terminal illnesses. The remaining £34,363.36 was donated to DUCFS Launchpad.

The DUCFS 2026 presidential team consisted of Charlotte Edwards, Augustus Jackson, Harvey Bell and Amelia Gore. The team have used £10,000 from DUCFS Launchpad as they have founded the *DUCFS Ignition Grant*: a fund to help Durham University students "develop creative and charitable projects that further \[DUCFS\] Launchpad's mission."

> "This grant \[DUCFS Ignition Grant\] will be ring-fenced and held by the Durham Students' Union, with awards made annually by the *DUCFS Launchpad Ignition Grant Panel*."

The fund has been designed to grow over time with ambitions to house a platform where the financial barrier Durham University students might face are increasingly minimised as time goes on. Within the UK, DUCFS is the first charity fashion show to have publicly started a fund in this sense.

DUCFS Launchpad's remaining £24,363.36 has been allocated to its projects in 2026/27\. With the sudden rise of new student media including *Brazen Magazine* and *Static Mag*, Castle & Cloister believes that the 2026/27 academic year might be DUCFS' largest year yet. Stay tuned.
